Timepiece 03:25
You looked so nice Time, when we first met each other It all felt right As we spent the carefree summer I watched your hands As they waved in little circles Everywhere we ran Your face would shine through sunset purples Time, time We were so much younger Now I’m Full of empty hunger Time, time Now the summer’s ending And I’m Nearly done pretending Fine, fine Now you’re leaving me behind You passed me by I’m not sure quite when I’m going If I asked you why You’d tell me there’s no way of knowing Time, time Marching forward always Now I’m Running narrow hallways Time, time If you’d slow down for me Time, I’d Tell you oh so shortly How, why I am broken, heart and mind

Sometimes I imagine What it would be like to be the only one left on earth. It wouldn’t feel like those terrifying horror movies, no But how would it feel? I would walk an empty boulevard, A shadow of the world that used to be. In every silent room I’d swear I heard a voice that called my name I’d turn around; there’d be nothing to see. I would think about the people and the life I used to know And I would dream remorseful dreams through sun and snow I’d dream with Colorado skies above me So wide and so bright ‘Cause there’d be nothing in the world half as lovely As the air at mountain height I’d forget even nostalgia I’d stop regretting even woe Pervasive loneliness and memories of all I used to have Would tumble greyly down the road I’d dream with Colorado skies above me So wide and so bright ‘Cause there’d be nothing in the world half as lovely As the air at mountain height [Interlude] I’m pretty sure that the end isn’t coming When I look into your eyes ‘Cause right now there’s something in the world twice as lovely As even Colorado skies.

Electrocity 04:02
Flying through the heavens, looking down upon the ground Early morning quiet still surrounds I see a spot so wonderful where I can sing my song A wire plenty tight and plenty strong Electricity, electra-city, elec-trocity The only thing to make me fly away at such velocities Punished for my courage, for my curiosity Shocked, appalled by this most unexpected new atrocity Day has broken; sunbeams scorch my wings and burn my tail I’m scouring for shade to no avail All I want to do is rest, relax and sing a tune That’s maybe half as pretty as the view To be free from electricity, from electrocity To find a place that’s free of animated animosity Evening and the sun is sinking lower in the West Promising at least a moment’s rest I see a spot so wonderful where I can sing my song A wire plenty tight and plenty strong Electricity, electra-city, elec-trocity The only thing to make me fly away at such velocities Punished for my courage for my curiosity Shocked but not appalled by this expected old atrocity

Sisyphus Always was A little bit odd Never quite Cool enough To be one of the gods He angered Zeus And for a noose He was given a rock To roll uphill Then again until He finally dropped Icarus Always was The one they all liked His waxen wings Shone as bright As diamond rings One cloudless day He flew away Toward the sun He didn’t know His wings would melt ‘Til it was already done Icarus saw Sisyphus struggle And he laughed at how the mighty prevail Sisyphus saw Icarus falling And he laughed at how the mighty can fail Icarus saw Sisyphus struggle And he laughed at how the mighty prevail Sisyphus saw Icarus falling And he laughed at how the mighty can fail

The price to keep your humanity Is your sanity Don’t be frugal It’s a meager fee Hey my friend you’d better watch you step One false move and it could be your head Everyone has come for the show Tonight some heads are gonna roll We’re just beasts that have escaped their cages We’re just playing one strange game and We make it up as we go along Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah Wear your smile, and don’t protest This is one giant pissing contest Our only asset is our deepest flaw Don’t doubt me, just follow along We’re just beasts that have escaped their cages We’re just playing one strange game and We make it up as we go along Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah I hope that you know the cost Of winning the rat race you have lost Oh what fun it is to play With this intellect you throw away We’re just beasts that have escaped their cages We’re just playing one strange game and We make it up as we go along

Aisles stretch forever Here’s a one-time offer no one can refuse On patent leather So get yourself some shiny shoes And say goodbye To by and by Soon there’ll be no later; there’ll be only now So buy and buy And by and by Surely you’ll afford it, don’t you ask me how Every market’s super Here’s your one-stop shop for all that you could need Get your pooper-scooper From the place that sells you fruit without the seeds And say goodbye To by and by Soon there’ll be no later; there’ll be only now So buy and buy And by and by Surely you’ll afford it, don’t you ask me how Songs are getting shorter In a week they’re in the gutter, oh now Nothing’s made to order It all comes from one shaped cookie cutter So say goodbye To by and by ‘Cause more is far superior to just a bit So buy and buy And by and by You’ve got all this shit and naught to show for it So say goodbye To by and by Soon there’ll be no later; there’ll be only now So buy and buy And by and by Surely you’ll afford it, don’t you ask me how Just buy and buy

Little Lucy 02:46
Little Lucy, spinning, dancing, humming something pretty Wanders toward an unnamed destination On her left, the morning traffic inches forward slowly Like a sea that ripples with frustration She looks up and suddenly as if by fate it's raining Nameless faces hide in faceless hoods Little Lucy doesn't mind the rain, in fact she likes it Gentle, soft, and oft misunderstood Little Lucy, listen to me Don't grow up just yet Now is not the time for regret Little lady, you'd be crazy Ever to forget The girl who didn't care when she got wet Business men in business suits all go about their business For them, today is just a rainy day But Little Lucy stops to dance in every placid puddle Without a car for moments gone astray Little Lucy, listen to me Don't grow up just yet Now is not the time for regret Little lady, you'd be crazy Ever to forget The girl who didn't care when she got wet Little Lucy

You do what you want and I do what I feel As long as that something has nothing to do with you Do with you I want to do it with you Taking me out when I want to stay in Thinking of you is too much to think of again Think again I'm thinking of you again Where are you taking me you're asking for more Making it last, I just want you to go Want to go I want you to go You do what you want and I do what I feel As long as that something has nothing to do with you Do with you I want to do it with you I want to do it with you

So here I am, so familiar Can't shake the feeling I've been here before You're a mirage in my desert Though I'm surviving, I thirst for more And for another world, an otherworld, a not her world A place where February rain Is a not-so-frequent pain Where February feels like spring may come again Rain turns to snow and I'm frozen Stuck in an awkward, uncomfortable pose And who knows by springtime it all may have changed May may have made the world bloom like a rose Into another world, an otherworld, a not her world A place where February rain Is a long forgetten pain Where February's gone and spring has come again

Watch the snow fall so effortlessly down Landing softly as a stone Sit inside in the artificial warmth And talk of chilly bones Walk alone through the effervescent night And pretend that it’s serene Sit alone in your plushly cushioned chair And invent a poetic scene It’s the same old story It’s the same old song I’m a broken record And the grooves are long It’s the same old story I’ve always told I‘m a broken record And it’s getting old Watch the snow fall so effortlessly down Type your poetry in bold Sit inside in the artificial warmth And talk about the cold It’s the same old story It’s the same old song I’m a broken record And the grooves are long It’s the same old story I’ve always told I‘m a broken record And it’s getting old

Dr. Fix-it 03:53
They call me Dr. Fix-it And that’s just what I do Depression and insomnia and constipation too, oh No matter what your problem I’ll write you up a fix Take one by mouth each morning, if it doesn’t work take six, they ask me, “Doctor can you ease my aching mind? leave my pain behind? can you cure the ill and save the most maligned?” They tell me, “Doctor, fix it, And help me ease the pain Arthralgia, chronic headaches, they’re driving me insane” No matter what your problem I’ll write you up a fix Take one by mouth each morning, if it doesn’t work take six, they ask me, “Doctor can you ease my aching mind? leave my pain behind? can you cure the ill and save the most maligned?” And I say no

At the edge of the unknown Even oceans seem to moan. And the water is placid glass, It encases me I’m trapped. The water laps my calves and swallows my toes. The tide it flows, then back again it goes, Daily, nightly I know. Daily, nightly so it goes. The sand beneath me swirls And with it time unfurls. Now the hourglass has turned And my stomach start to churn. Too much time to stop and think As my feet begin to sink. On this nearly endless shore I’m but one grain, nothing more. The water laps my calves and swallows my toes. The tide it flows, then back again it goes, Daily, nightly I know. Daily, nightly so it goes. Now I’ve fallen past the seam Time to sleep perchance to dream. Father time is not my friend As the glass is turned again.

Goose Chase 04:42
Late: not tired Never inspired Prolonged malaise Falling in place Trapped in routine A human machine Resetting the dial For a fake-looking smile Sweet and bitter: The hourglass figure Chased by a goose Never cut loose
